1. Configure an system as an DNS server as well as Client.
2. Check out the BIND version on the DNS server.
3. Find the Daemon and the port number required for DNS.
4. Use the nslookup and the dig utility to check the dns server response.
5. Configure the NIS master and DNS server and edit the entries required in /etc/nsswitch. Conf files on the client side.
6. Understand the three main configuration files on the DNS server.
7. Configure and Secondary DNS server and try to fail over the services.
8. Try to edit the maximum name servers entries can be provided on the client side /etc/nsswitch.conf file.
